Featrue Rich Ulysse Nardin Acqua Perpetual Limited Edition 333-90-3 Reviewed
At first glance this watch looks like many others, with a few orange bits added, but upon further inspection it reveals all manner of hidden characteristics. As the name suggests, this is limited to only 500 pieces so if you are considering buying one, now is the time to do it while there are still some available.
Someone jokingly asked if this watch came with a book of instructions, and while this is a bit of an exaggeration, there is no doubt it is a feature rich watch.
While Ulysse Nardin might sound like two people’s names joined to form a company name, it is in fact the name of the man who founded the Swiss company in 1846.
In 1983 the company was taken over by a businessman named Rolf Schnyder and he set about re-launching the brand.
Two years after his acquisition the company presented the “Astrolabium Galileo Galilei” watch. This little watch with the complicated name had features to match, including solar time, sun and moon orbits, star positions and much more – so much more that it entered the Guinness Book of Records in 1989 as the watch with the most functions, totalling a hefty 21 distinct functions!
That is not the only recognition this company has achieved, being awarded “Best Technical Innovation Watch”, “New Technology Award”, The Sonata was honoured as Watch of the Year 2004 in the category “Technical Watch” – and the list goes on.
Needless to say the Galileo Galilei was only the beginning of this company’s quest for extra and original elements to add to watches and they continue to make complication watches, innovative timepieces and extraordinary wristwatches.
